Red Rolling Hood is an exciting, physics-puzzle game for PC developed by Holymountain Games. My work as a Level Designer helped ship this title in Summer 2012.
Red Rolling Hood is a 2D Platformer utilizing an exciting world rotation mechanic. The core gameplay is the intricate solution of puzzles using simple-to-use mechanics including world rotation, gravity, moving platforms, and many more. The ultimate goal of Red Rolling Hood is to maneuver Red through 96 levels and 4 seasons to her rescue Grandmother. Grandmother has been kidnapped by the Big Bad Wolf and has been tied up at the end of each level. To successfully complete one level of Red Rolling Hood, the player must get Red to Grandmother. Additional goals for each level include collecting the Golden Apple, and proficiently completing the puzzle in the fewest world rotations possible.
I was a Level/Puzzle Designer for HolyMountain. My duties included:
- Prototype, build, and finalize levels using Unity3D.
- Creation of puzzles of varying difficulty using level features, game philosophy, and player psychology.
- Collaborate and communicate with a small team of designers to maintain and ensure a cohesive gameplay experience.
- Regularly solicit feedback and critiques from team members and respond with analytical criticism.
Red Rolling Hood is now available on Desura and was released Summer 2012.
